Job Description

Do you want a good job in a fun atmosphere, working short hours with some brilliant people with genuine prospects for advancement? Hitchin Veterinary Surgery may then be the place for you!

The practice founder, Stuart de Wolf, will explain more; ‘being a small independent practice with just 18 staff, many of whom I have worked with for many years, are like a big family which meant I knew that I did not want to go down the corporate sale route and instead opted to set up an Employee Ownership Trust. This means that all the staff will be entitled to a profit share which looks to be a very generous bonus this year, and hopefully every year! However, the business will still need leadership and with the two senior vets quite ‘long in the teeth’ (sorry Zoe!) there are definite prospects for the right employee to run the business, and unlike a clinical director in a corporate practice, you will be working for yourself and sharing the profits!’

Zoe, one of our senior veterinary surgeons who joined the team in November 2019 had the following to say about Hitchin Vets; ‘From day one, everyone at the surgery made me feel welcome and part of the family. Since then, we have grown as a practice and it is amazing to have been part of that journey and feel that your feedback is valued. There is a varied caseload here at the practice, and everyone works together as a team to ensure the smooth running of the practice. I appreciate everyone working at the surgery from the admin team to the vets, my job would not be possible without any of their wealth of experience and knowledge. I look forward to another vet joining the team!’
