Job Purpose

The PCV is a varied and flexible role providing both technical support to veterinary customers and commercial support to regional sales and marketing teams.

You will be responsible for helping drive veterinary nutrition growth through relationship building and influence of veterinary specialists, key thought leaders, healthcare teams and veterinary students, increasing awareness, recommendation and sales of Hill’s products.

You will ensure the highest levels of customer service and nutritional expertise in order to build trust and respect within the veterinary industry, delivering information on Hill’s products to specialists and other veterinary clinic accounts to drive their endorsement.

The position serves as a technical liaison, consulting, coaching and training Territory Managers primarily in the North sales region, but occasionally to the wider UK and Ireland commercial team.

Main Responsibilities

30%

  • Provide technical nutritional support to veterinary customers through telephone and digital support, including emails and professional-audience social media platforms, as part of the Hill’s Veterinary Consult Service, 1-2 days per week (with occasional increase to accommodate rota coverage). Time dedicated to this task may flex based on business needs and other personnel. The successful candidate for this role will be happy to accommodate more time spent in field activities when required.

35%

  • In partnership with our customer development team, develop and grow relationships with key opportunity customers, including key thought leaders, referral centres, and corporate veterinary practices in region. Drive nutritional and brand awareness and engagement via core strategies including WSAVA’s 5VA elements and nutritional seminars to support commercial objectives.

20%

  • Provide face to face and virtual coaching, training, support and mentoring to Territory Managers in the North sales region on technical nutritional skills, product knowledge, and veterinary practice development and relations. Participate in joint call days to veterinary practices and provide training for in-clinic seminar delivery.

15%

  • Provide professional support to veterinary schools in North region, including seminars, virtual learning and engagement activities, and other ways to drive nutritional engagement and Hill’s brand awareness among future veterinary professionals. Recruit and manage the student reps in covered universities.
  • Provide professional support at regional veterinary meetings and congresses as requested by the (Associate) Veterinary Affairs Manager(s).
  • Provide support in developing and checking technical accuracy of marketing and educational materials as requested by the (Associate) Veterinary Affairs Manager(s).

  • Proactive and creative – ability to make sound decisions under conditions of uncertainty or complexity; ability to generate new ideas and ways of working to drive business goals
  • Proficient in the use of digital tools, such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, as well as some proficiency with social media engagement
