    Organisational background

Our practice is a very friendly mixed practice in beautiful North Lancashire with 4 companion animal branches, a farm team and an export team.

It was formed in 2007 by the merger of two long-standing mixed practices (Green Lane Vets and Dimples Lane Vets) that had served this semi-rural area for 80 or so years. Over the last 14 years the LA, SA and export parts of the business have become run as separate departments.

A lot of our staff have been with us many years, often coming as initially students and staying. A number of those who have left have come back after stretching their wings in the wider world. We also pride ourselves on being a significant employer and trainer of young people in our local community over the whole spectrum of jobs available within a veterinary practice and regularly support local community and charity events.

We think of ourselves as the “Lanes Family”. The Garstang practice is situated on the edge of the Tough of Bowland (AONB) and is only 30 minutes drive from the lake district. The area offers much for outdoor enthusiasts: walking, running, cycling and climbing along with access to excellent schools, historic Lancaster and Preston both offering excellent pubs, restaurants, shopping, cinemas and theatres!

    Organisation aims & mission

Our vision is to be the most respected practice around, providing outstanding customer service. Our approach to achieve this is to ensure every member of our team enjoys their job and excels in their responsibilities.

We welcome investment in our team – anything that helps us work better (eg equipment, software, training, well-being) is considered. We have been awarded ‘Outstanding’ accreditation for Client Service, Team and Professional Responsibilities’ and ‘Outpatient Care’ by RCVS.

  • Company values

We like to work hard and play hard. We have a great social and support network within the practice. Job satisfaction and progress is very important to us for all staff – we believe a happy workplace leads to a more productive team.

We are committed to providing caring, compassionate and professional service to all our patients and their families by ensuring our staff have access to excellent facilities, a supportive team and the ability to develop personally and professionally in a happy work environment. We are committed to a team in which all members are of equal importance, no matter what their role. Everyone’s voice matters at Lanes. We work hard and play hard, but always care for each other.
